The much-loved Members Enclosure Car Parks, including The Birdcage, are a long-standing tradition held by members for entertaining during Cup Week - an experience cherished by all.
In 2024, make it your year to enjoy the Melbourne Cup Carnival in the Members Car Park. Choose a site in The Nursery, where you can design your very own party, or opt for The Rails Promenade, a fully furnished site where you simply BYO food and drink.

Blaze a trail to the stylish surrounds of the world-famous Birdcage at the 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival, it’s easier than you think. Simply scan your VRC Membership card and you're in!
This year’s theme is "Rendezvous" – promising joyful celebrations with long-time friends, intriguing new chance encounters, sophisticated glamour and the spirit of connection.
The Birdbath Bar will be the perfect rendezvous point and with easy access to trackside views, super screens all around, ultra-convenient betting facilities and that unique atmosphere that you only get in The Birdcage, you won’t miss a minute of action on and off the track.

The Birdcage has established itself as a must-visit destination during Cup Week. The desire to visit for the first time is exhilarating, and the desire to return is all-consuming.
This year, members and their guests can rendezvous in The Birdcage and enjoy the comfort of a reserved table for the entire day. A reserved table, located near the Birdbath Bar, provides a dedicated space, allowing members and their guests the flexibility to come and go as they please.
Please Note: Prices are per person and inclusive of a $50 food and beverage voucher to be used on the day at the Birdbath Bar. The Guest ticket price also includes entry into the racecourse and the Members Enclosure.

The Birdbath Bar takes flight once again

The Birdbath Bar will offer so many new “food firsts” in 2024. Indulge in the Global Chip Bar featuring the best chip styles from around the world, and its close cousin, the Potato Cake Bar, where every crunch hits like an unexpected flavor bomb.
Savor Melbourne’s finest sandwiches and quench your thirst with inventive cooling spritzes and icy beverages crafted in collaboration with our most exciting mixologists, then wander and soak up the atmosphere, join in some karaoke fun with friends, or grab a photographic memento in the retro-style Photobooth.

Witness history being made from The Rails Promenade
Experience the thunderous roar and blur of color as jockeys and horses race past The Rails Promenade. Part of The Birdcage experience, this popular trackside favorite offers the perfect vantage point to witness every race up close, all day long. Best of all, The Rails Promenade sites come fully furnished, so all you need to do is plan the menu!
Bring your own picnic, food, and beverages, or let one of our accredited caterers handle it for you. Members can book a fully furnished site in The Rails Promenade, beautifully outfitted with comfortable seating, spacious tables, shade umbrellas, and more.
Guests can join your Rails Promenade site with a Rails Pedestrian Pass, allowing access throughout The Rails Promenade and The Birdcage.
Enjoy the convenience of super screens, betting facilities, and easy access to all amenities at The Rails Promenade. Get ready for the best Cup Carnival yet!
The VRC will strive to allocate the same site for multiple-day bookings.
Members may purchase up to 10 car sites together in the same Ticketmaster transaction, with one barcode required per car site. This ensures that car sites are allocated as adjoining. Car site locations will be allocated by the VRC, and members will be notified in early October.

The Rails Promenade furnished sites include a clothed dining table, 10 foldable chairs, a food station unit including storage and benchtop, a high bar table and 2 market umbrellas for shelter. Bags of ice will be available for purchase within The Rails Promenade.

It's time once again to join one of Flemington’s cherished traditions: your party in the car park!
The Nursery lets members create their own unique BYO or catered experience for memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you want it grand or casual, you can play host to friends, family, and colleagues, impressing them with your personal style and taste.
Opt to bring your own special picnics, hampers, and beverages, or let our accredited hirers and caterers handle everything for you.
Enjoy comprehensive racing coverage, convenient betting facilities, a DJ, and live entertainment throughout the day, ensuring a fantastic race day experience.

Treat yourself to all the space and luxury you can imagine, as you entertain friends and guests for a truly unforgettable Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Super Sites are approximately 11m x 3m with a 6m x 3m marquee roof and surrounding fence.
Super Sites are subject to the following:

There is no power to the Super Sites and the use of generators is strictly prohibited.

The VRC has accredited two of Melbourne’s leading caterers to provide a range of catering services to members in The Rails Promenade and The Nursery.
The Club’s accredited caterers will take care of all your race day catering requirements, including food, beverages, waitstaff service, equipment, site theming and site pack down. Please note that unaccredited caterers are strictly prohibited.
Members who purchase a car park site will be provided with additional information about our accredited caterers, including order cut-off dates.
